Milton-Washington Township volunteer firefighter dies in line of duty

WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. - A Milton-Washington Township volunteer firefighter died in the line of duty on Friday, according to a Facebook post from MFD.




Firefighter Scott Adams served the Milton-Washington Township community with "courage and compassion," the department wrote.




"Firefighter Adams made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our community on April 25, 2025, answering the call with the bravery, dedication and selflessness that defined his career and his life," the post read.




MFD noted Adams's works in public service and courage in his position. While details on memorial services were not provided, the department said it would provide updates once they are made available.




"Rest easy, Brother," the post concluded. "We have the watch from here."
