AVON, Ind. - Multiple people were injured in a large fight that broke out at a restaurant in Avon Saturday night.
In a Facebook post, the Avon Police Department confirmed that its officers were dispatched to a restaurant around 10 p.m. When APD officers and Hendricks County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene, they located multiple individuals who had been injured in a fight.
Police reported that the fight's primary aggressors fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. APD indicated that its officers "spent a significant amount of time interviewing witnesses, collecting videos and gathering statements."
In its Facebook post, APD did not specify which restaurant the fight broke out at. The agency is encouraging those with information on the fight to call its office at (317) 272-4485 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-8477.
"Incidents of this magnitude are certainly not a regular occurrence in our community," APD officials wrote in their Facebook post. "While we cannot release certain information at this time, we can confirm that no victims were stabbed, nor were there any firearms discharged.
"We are proud of the swift and effective response of officers and medical professionals who responded to the scene and we look forward to updating the public on this matter when additional information is available for release."
