Muncie EMS chief placed on 'administrative leave' after reported charges
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Officials with the city of Muncie said the city's EMS chief has been placed on administrative leave after they became aware of charges recently filed against him.
According to a news release from the city of Muncie, officials said Wesley Miller, the city's EMS chief, was recently charged in relation to alleged crimes. The city said the that the allegations are not connected to Miller's city duties and "did not occur within Muncie or Delaware County."
The city of Muncie confirmed that Miller was charged in Jay County on Tuesday for residential entry and domestic battery, each a Level 6 felony.
The city said placing Miller on administrative leave "allows for a comprehensive review of the situation while maintaining the integrity of our public services."
"The City of Muncie will continue to monitor the situation closely," the release said. "We remain committed to upholding the trust and confidence of our community and ensuring accountability at all levels of municipal operations.
"As this is an ongoing matter, we will refrain from further comment until the investigation is complete," the release concluded.
