Muncie man to be inducted into White Castle's Hall of Fame

(WXIN/WTTV) - A central Indiana man who makes his Thanksgiving stuffing out of White Castle sliders will now be inducted into the restaurant's prestigious Cravers Hall of Fame.

Robert Donati of Muncie is among 14 people chosen in this year's class of Hall of Fame inductees. As part of this honor, Donati will now travel to White Castle's home office in Columbus, Ohio, and receive two days of "royal treatment" before his induction.

Robert Donati

Refered to by White Castle as a "distinguished Muncie Craver," Robert Donati has reportedly loved the restaurant's sliders since before he even knew what they were called. A young Donati used any excuse to "Slider down" and enjoy the burgers, according to a news release.

Donati has worked White Castle into various aspects of his life, whether it be regular Friday lunches with a friend or taking his college sweetheart on dates.

White Castle said the Muncie man is so obsessed with their sliders that he even uses them as the main ingredient in a burger-based Thanksgiving stuffing.

Given Donati's dedication to the fast food chain, it was reportedly no surprise when he and his friends "took their Crave to the next level" and formed an elite society of White Castle fans. The group, which calls itself the Craver Chapter 834, now "works to promote the Slider experience."

Donati is now dedicated to turning skeptics into White Castle believers and full-fledged "Cravers," the restaurant said.

Cravers Hall of Fame

Founded over 20 years ago, the Cravers Hall of Fame is the restaurant's way of acknowledging its "most dedicated and ardent fans, those who go above and beyond to show their devotion" to White Castle. Hundreds of fans, or Cravers, submit applications every year.

White Castle has inducted fewer than 300 people into the Cravers Hall of Fame since its inaugural class in 2001. Notable inductees include rockstar Alice Cooper, late Marvel comics legend Stan Lee and actors Kal Penn and John Cho.

Indiana is no stranger to being involved in the Hall. The entire town of Whiting, Indiana, was inducted last year for harboring a White Castle since 1935 and being the first location to open in the Greater Chicago area. For more on the town's induction, click here.

FOX59/CBS4 is now working to interview Donati and speak with him further about his dedication to White Castle. For more information on the Cravers Hall of Fame, click here.
