Muncie PD investigates after dead person found in retention pond

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Officials with the Muncie Police Department are investigating after a dead person was found in a retention pond in west Muncie.




According to a news release from the department, officers discovered a deceased individual in a retention pond in the 300 block of South Tillotson Avenue.

The release said that at this time, the individual's identity cannot be confirmed until further investigation and examination occur. Officials said that this is an ongoing investigation and further information will be released at a later time.
