FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - An exchange of gunfire Sunday evening between a suspect and the Auburn Police Department leaves one man injured.
The Auburn Police Department responded to the 300 block of West 11th Street in Auburn at 6:30 p.m.. Police were informed that a man had entered a residence on the block and pointed a gun at another person.
Upon arrival, police found the man and exchanged gunfire with him. In the fight, the man was shot and taken to a local hospital.
No officers were injured during the incident. The officers involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure for the Auburn Police Department.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police and more information will be reported when it is released.
