Operation Backpack: How you can donate school supplies


INDIANAPOLIS - Students across central Indiana will be heading back to school soon. Many children don't have the basic supplies they need.




FOX59, with our partners at Volunteers of America, Needler's and Furniture Fair are launching Operation Backpack.




We're asking those of you who can, to buy a new backpack or school supplies and drop them off at one of the 14 locations listed and seen in the map below.








Every new backpack will help at-risk kids succeed in school. Consider giving any of the following items.





  • Spiral Notebook




  • Notebook Paper




  • Binder




  • Eraser




  • Ruler




  • Folders




  • Scissors




  • Crayons, 24-count




  • Pencils




  • Pencil Sharpener




  • Markers, 8-count




  • Highlighter




  • Pens




  • Deodorant




  • Bar Soap




  • Toothpaste




  • Toothbrush




  • Shampoo/Conditioner
