OKLAHOMA CITY - Another incredible comeback for the Indiana Pacers leading to a win in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Pacers rallied late against the Oklahoma City Thunder pulling out a one-point win, winning 111-110.
The Pacers now lead 1-0 in the seven-game series after the win at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.
The Pacers were down by 15 in the fourth quarter but hit threes and stayed in the game. They got within one point with less than 25 seconds in the game when Oklahoma City missed a shot giving the Pacers a chance to win it. Tyrese Haliburton was able to make a shot with 0.3 seconds remaining.
The Pacers trailed the entire game before they went ahead in the final seconds. Earlier in the game, they made history in an unfortunate way. They made 19 turnovers in the first half of Game 1. That marks the highest number of turnovers by a team before halftime in a postseason game during the NBA's digital era dating back to 1997. Despite the turnovers, the Pacers were only down by 12 points at the half.
The two teams will face off again at 8 p.m. Sunday for Game 2 in OKC, before returning to Indianapolis for Games 3 and 4 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Game 3 is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11.
