PLAINFIELD, Ind. - One person is dead and another is in police custody after a shooting in Plainfield.
Police were called around 3:30 p.m. Friday to the 2000 block of Creekhollow Road for a shooting. Upon arrival, they found one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. That victim was pronounced dead on scene, according to the Plainfield Police Department.
PPD officials said around 6 p.m. Friday that a "person of interest" is in custody. Police did not provide any other information on the person they detained.
"The investigation is in its early stages and is expected to be thorough and time-consuming," PPD said in a release. "[We are] actively working to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding this incident."
Officials said that there is no threat to public safety and that officers are not seeking any additional people involved. No further details were provided.
