Spotty showers and pockets of drizzle will once again return to the area today, as northwest winds blow in at 12-18 mph. This colder than normal chunk of air will keep temperatures well below average, with highs only nearing 60°...roughly 15-17° below average for late May.
Much like yesterday, rainfall totals will remain below 0.10", for most, as clouds loom heavy statewide. Keep that umbrella handy and a coat on throughout the day! The steadiest of showers today are likely to set up in our southern counties.
Skies slowly clear tonight, as temperatures cool overnight into the lower 40s. As temperatures fall near the dew point, some patchy fog will likely develop before sunrise under lighter winds.
Carb Day brings dry weather and sunshine's return! This will bring a bounce in temperatures, too, as highs reach the middle 60s...still below average for this time of the year but definitely an improvement! Winds tomorrow from the northwest at 4-9 mph. Sunscreen will be needed.
The weekend continues to show improvements with more dry weather on Saturday, while a blend of clouds and sunshine will be enjoyed with highs reaching the upper 60s.
Race Day (Indy 500) looks dry, thankfully! The rain chances that threatened Sunday morning will now likely skirt the southwestern part of the state, keeping IMS dry all day. Heavy clouds will still hold for the morning with a decrease by the afternoon. This will mark a cooler than normal day but little to complain about given the recent outlook.
Such great news but be sure to check in, as we are still more than 72 hours out from the spectacle!
