Plume of warmth inbound, storms still threaten

Plume of warmth inbound, storms still threaten

Areas of rain continue this Wednesday morning, under mild temperatures and patchy fog in spots. Definitely an unsettled start under heavy cloud cover in central Indiana. Expect temperatures out-the-door in the lower 60s, with an umbrella in hand.

Drier conditions will slowly return through the morning and day, as clouds break and warmth builds in for downtown by late afternoon, with highs reaching around 80°. Spotty showers and storms will stick around with a heavier concentration north and east of Indianapolis. This should help in drying the track for Day 2 of Indianapolis 500 practice by noon and beyond.

Tonight will be dry with some fog developing overnight and much better for the Indians game this evening.

The hottest air of the year (so far) arrives tomorrow, as we run it up to near record warmth with highs reaching the upper 80s. A storm threat will be in the mix for tomorrow evening with damaging winds and hail possible in a few storms.

Another round of severe weather will return on Friday evening with more hail and damaging winds through but before sunrise on Saturday! Weekend still looks incredible with bright sun, breezy northwest winds and lower humidity...perfect for qualifications and Bump Day...enjoy!
