Police investigate shooting near I-465 on east side

INDIANAPOLIS - A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot near I-465 on the east side.




According to Indiana State Police, an investigation into the shooting was underway. They couldn't provide information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.




The Indiana Department of Transportation's TrafficWise map showed a "traffic hazard" on I-465 southbound at mile marker 43.5 on the ramp to Shadeland Avenue.




Traffic cameras showed multiple police units in the area. Police were initially dispatched to the area on a gunshot run around 6:05 a.m.




INDOT said the southbound exit ramp was slow.
