IMPD confirmed that the victim was transported from the scene to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Police reported that the victim was pronounced dead soon after he arrived at the hospital.
Investigators believe the stabbing stemmed from a disturbance between the victim and one other individual. IMPD indicated that it has not been able to identify the other party involved in the disturbance that led to the stabbing.
Police also confirmed that they have not detained any suspects or persons of interest at this point in their investigation of the stabbing. IMPD did not provide a description of the other individual who was allegedly involved in the disturbance that led to the stabbing.
Because the disturbance is believed to have only involved two individuals, police do not think the stabbing poses any ongoing threat to the community.
