LOGANSPORT, Ind. -- A 39-year-old man is in custody after he reportedly threatened and stabbed a 63-year-old man with a knife in Logansport on Tuesday evening.
According to a news release from the Logansport Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of 6th Street and North Street in reference to a man threatening someone with a knife.
As officers were traveling to the scene, they were advised that the man, identified as the 39-year-old, was walking eastbound in the 600 block of E. Broadway when he began stabbing the 63-year-old man near a park bench. The 39-year-old was taken into custody when officers arrived.
The release said the 63-year-old had multiple stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital. Officials said he was later flown to a Fort Wayne hospital in "critical but stable condition."
The 39-year-old was preliminarily charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon, a Level 3 felony, and one count of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony.
