Rain early Sunday with heat, humidity in the afternoon around central Indiana

Morning storms continue across several areas especially around Indianapolis and to the west along I-70. These "ridge rider" storms are weakening as they move southeast through the morning. The LIV Golf start is delayed and Indiana State Fair officials are keeping an eye on conditions for the final day.
The good news is that this complex will continue weakening through the morning. I wouldn't cancel any outdoor plans but perhaps delaying anything from the morning may be wise. There is also a chance of a pop-up storm this afternoon. However, those will be few and far between.
Once these storms exit, expect another hot and muggy day across central Indiana. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s to near 90°. Heat index values approaching the mid-to-upper 90s are possible, especially in areas that did not receive any morning rainfall.
Two more days of heat and humidity follow Monday and Tuesday. More of the same... highs around 90° and heat indices above that. It'll be these days when some 100° heat index values would occur. No rain is forecast until Tuesday. That's when scattered storms are likely ahead of a cold front.
Starting Wednesday, high temperatures will drop into the 80s across central Indiana. A few widely scattered showers are possible early as the front slides through. Otherwise, this is when relief arrives. Dew points will drop and temperatures will be around normal for this time of the year.
An overall pleasant few days is forecast late next week and into the weekend. Lots of dry time, sunshine and highs in the 80s.
