INDIANAPOLIS - One person was arrested after a police chase on the east side of Indianapolis Monday night.
Per a public police report, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested 26-year-old Mercaydes Alazai Chism after the chase. IMPD's report indicates the chase began around 7:43 p.m. in the 4400 block of East 10th Street.
Chism faces six preliminary charges:
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deal - Level 2 Felony
- Possession of methamphetamine - Level 4 Felony
- Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle - Level 6 Felony
- Possession of fentanyl with intent to deal - Level 4 Felony
- Possession of drug paraphernalia - Class C Misdemeanor
- Possession of drug dealing paraphernalia - Class A Infraction
IMPD logged three clear baggies of suspected meth, one clear baggie of suspected fentanyl, a digital scale and a glass pipe as evidence. IMPD's report also indicates a tan 2002 Ford was involved in the incident in some capacity.
Chism was booked into the Marion County Jail Monday night. An initial court date has not yet been set in her case.
