Report: 2 juveniles arrested after chase in Speedway

SPEEDWAY, Ind. - Two juveniles were arrested after a chase in Speedway early Saturday morning.




According to a public police report, Speedway Police Department officers took two boys - a 14-year-old and a 12-year-old - into custody after the chase. The time and location attached to the chase report are 4:28 a.m. and the intersection Parkwood Drive and Crawfordsville Road, respectively.




Per the report, the 14-year-old faces seven preliminary charges:

• Auto theft - Level 6 Felony





• Resisting law enforcement with a vehicle - Level 6 Felony





• Resisting law enforcement - Class A Misdemeanor





• Leave the scene of a vehicle crash that caused property damage - Class B Misdemeanor





• Driving while having never received a license - Class C Misdemeanor





• Kidnapping - Level 5 Felony





• Kidnapping using a vehicle - Level 5 Felony

The 12-year-old also faces two preliminary charges, resisting law enforcement and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, which are a Class A Misdemeanor and Level 6 Felony, respectively.




The report also lists two other boys - a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old - as suspects. It is currently unclear if the 13-year-old and 15-year-old were detained or charged during police's investigation of the chase.




Police reported that they recovered a black 2016 Kia sedan during the chase. Per the report, a 2003 Ford F-150 was also damaged during the incident.




In addition to the vehicles, a taser cartridge was logged as law enforcement equipment evidence in the report.




The Kia involved in the chase is believed to have been stolen from Kennedy Minor on Thursday. Previous reporting indicates Minor's car was stolen from Walnut Ridge Lane shortly before 2 a.m.




After her car was stolen, Minor told FOX59/CBS4 that multiple keepsakes from her father, who died in 2020, were in her vehicle when it was stolen. Over the weekend, Minor reported that she recovered one of the keepsakes after the chase on Saturday. She added that her car sustained significant damage during the chase.
