Advents Unveil "Hate Myself" with Official Music Video

Modern metal band Advents continue to build momentum with their new single "Hate Myself," out Friday, April 3rd via InVogue Records. Accompanied by a music video, the track follows the fallout of letting the wrong person or influence in, where brief highs give way to a lingering weight that's harder to ignore.
"'Hate Myself' is about letting something or someone into your life knowing full well you shouldn't, and then regretting it," says vocalist Tyler Simpson. "In the moment it's great and euphoric, and you think to yourself, 'oh maybe this isn't so bad', but then it bites you in the end and you never truly know why you let them in to begin with."
"Hate Myself" comes from that moment where you already know something is a bad idea but you choose to go along with it anyway. It feels good at first, which almost makes it worse because you can see where it's headed. By the time that decision catches up with you, you're left sitting with it and trying to figure out why you let it happen at all. Advents channel that tension and frustration into something direct and honest, letting it hit without overcomplicating it.
Rising from the heart of New York City, Advents is carving out their own corner in the modern heavy music world with no interest in following the rules. The band did not quietly step onto the scene, they grabbed heavy music fans with a sound that is equal parts cathartic and cinematic. Built on the foundation of four artists who are not afraid to take risks, Tyler Simpson, Kevin Chapilliquen, Sebastian Ferlin, and Joe Koza each bring something different to the table, pushing the project forward with drive and intention.
Blending atmospheric textures with the punch of metalcore and the weight of hard rock, Advents has been steadily leveling up with every release. Their music is immersive by design, introspective and explosive in equal measure, and it is meant to connect with listeners on more than just the surface. What started as raw and aggressive has grown into something more layered and thoughtful. The band has become sharper, more focused, and more fearless in their storytelling, with their new vocalist Tyler Simpson bringing his own dynamic presence to the vocal front.
With more than 10 million streams and counting, Advents is already making waves far beyond their home turf. Their breakout EP, PERSONA MELODIES, delivered standout tracks like "CHROMA" and "NEVER GAME OVER," both of which passed the one million stream mark. They have landed placements on major Spotify playlists including All New Metal, and earned top 10 positions on iTunes Rock and Metal charts in Australia and Finland. Behind the scenes, they have worked with producers Ricky Armellino of Ice Nine Kills and Currents, and Jonathan Dolese of Emmure and D.R.U.G.S. Together they helped fine-tune a sound that hits hard but always moves forward.
Signed to InVogue Records and fueled by the momentum of their single "Liminal," Advents has been deep in the creative process. With new material in the works, the band continues to refine their sound and explore just how far they can take it. Each step forward is a reminder that they're only just beginning to tap into what Advents can truly become.
