My Chemical Romance is reportedly working on a new theater project, according to playwright John Cameron Mitchell. In a Broadway World interview, Mitchell revealed he's collaborating with the emo band on "a project for theatre" but remained secretive about details. Separately, on a podcast, he called it "a little secret" that hasn't been announced yet, adding "we still gotta sign stuff, but they're great people." Some believe the project could resemble Green Day's American Idiot Broadway musical, which featured band contributions and ran over 400 shows from 2010-2011. MCR is currently touring their Black Parade 20th anniversary shows across the UK, Europe and North America, playing the album in full plus rarities. The band debuted unreleased track "War Beneath The Rain" in Los Angeles and teased new material by clearing their social media.
