Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford celebrated four decades of sobriety in an Instagram video message to fans on Tuesday (January 6). The 74-year-old singer reflected on his recovery journey, stating: "Today I stand here with deep gratitude and thankfulness as I celebrate 40 years of sobriety. Four decades ago, I made a decision to change the entire course of my life, stepping out of darkness into the light, toward the future I couldn't see." Halford entered rehab in 1986 and has remained clean since then. He emphasized that recovery requires daily commitment while sharing that "Recovery asks for complete honesty, humility and a willingness to grow one day at a time." The heavy metal vocalist has previously described himself as "a recovering alcoholic and drug addict" while detailing his substance abuse struggles in his 2020 autobiography, Confess.
