KOKOMO, Ind. - A Sharpsville man died in a crash on U.S. Highway 31 in Kokomo on Wednesday.
The Howard County Coroner Office has confirmed that its personnel was dispatched to 2750 S. U.S. Hwy 31 in Kokomo around 6:35 a.m. because a person had been killed in an automobile crash. After a preliminary investigation, the coroner's office determined that 41-year-old Charlie J. Bowman was the person who died in the crash.
The coroner's office has not provided any additional details on the crash, including what caused it or how many cars were involved in it.
A forensic pathologist is slated to conduct an autopsy on Bowman's body at the Howard County Coroner's Office on Tuesday. HCCO will release Bowman's exact cause and manner of death once toxicology test results are in.
HCCO and the Kokomo Police Department are still investigating the crash. The coroner's office is encouraging those with additional information on the crash to contact KPD officer Greg Smith.
