Shelbyville man arrested more than a week after search warrant served at home
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. - A prominent Shelbyville man has been arrested as part of a federal investigation.
David Finkel served as director of the Strand Theatre and vice president of the Shelbyville Central School Board. He resigned from the school position and was no longer listed in a leadership role with the theatre.
According to previous reports, authorities served search warrants at his home in Shelbyville on June 5. Two sources told FOX59/CBS4 the warrants were part of a federal investigation involving child pornography.
The FBI confirmed Finkel's arrest Monday without providing additional details.
"David Finkel was taken into custody this morning in Shelbyville on a federal arrest warrant," the FBI said in an emailed statement. "As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to provide any additional information at this time."
Finkel was due to appear in federal court on Monday afternoon.
