Social Distortion Returns With First Album In 15 Years, Shares Title Track "Born To Kill," Plans Tou

Social Distortion unveiled details of their new album, Born To Kill, marking their first release in 15 years since 2011's Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. The 11-track album drops May 8th, with the band also sharing the title track and Lance Bangs-directed music video. This project represents frontman Mike Ness' first album since recovering from tonsil cancer diagnosed in 2023. According to a press release, "The first Social Distortion album since Ness' recovery from a bout with cancer, Born To Kill brims with aggressive optimism," with the band proudly stating, "A lot of time & effort went into making these songs, hope you enjoy them ?????." The announcement follows their 2026 North American tour reveal with fellow punk legends Descendents, which kicks off in late August. Pre-sales started Wednesday (Feb. 25), with general on-sales beginning Friday (Feb. 27). The band has performed "Born To Kill" live over recent years before its studio release.
