Spotty showers and thundershowers will be in play today, under thicker clouds at times. Expect a fairly mild and quiet start to the morning, as large parts of the state will remain dry through the early rush. Out-the-door temperatures will vary between 53-63° for the area.
This afternoon, a limited shower chance (20%) will remain for Indianapolis and points north! A greater chance (60%) of rain and a few storms will remain from I-70 and points south, closer to the boundary. Highs today will warm into the upper 60s, locally, with winds from the northeast at 8-15 mph.
By this evening, shower chances will exit the state and clear, cooler conditions will settle in overnight. Lows will drop into the lower 40s, as fog potential will be likely for our southern counties, patchy frost north and east.
Friday and the weekend look INCREDIBLE! Bright sun, cool mornings and a warming trend start on Saturday. The warmest air of May (so far) will likely arrive on Sunday, nearing 80°, just in time for Mother's Day...enjoy!
