There are a few spotty showers and thunderstorms within central Indiana this Monday morning. An occasional shower or storm is possible through the morning commute, so it may not be a bad idea to grab an umbrella before heading out today. It is also warm and very humid with temperatures and dew points in the 70s.
Hot and humid conditions are expected today as highs reach the lower 90s. Heat index values may exceed 100° this afternoon, which is why a Heat Advisory remains in effect for today. The Heat Advisory will expire at 8 PM Tuesday. Because of the heat and humidity, there is another chance for storms to initiate this afternoon and evening.
Be prepared for steamy weather through midweek with highs in the lower 90s through Wednesday. However, central Indiana will finally have relief from the high heat and humidity after a cold front passes over the state Wednesday. The boundary will also bring a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.
The weather at the end of the week will be cooler and much more comfortable! Highs will return to the lower 80s Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows will even drop back into the upper 50s/lower 60s!
