
INDIANAPOLIS - A line of strong storms downed trees and caused power outages in portions of central Indiana on Saturday.
In Hendricks County, numerous downed trees were spotted. Along Thornburg Parkway in Brownsburg, a tree fell on a home.
Similar reports were made by the Washington Township/Avon Fire Department. In a Facebook post, the department indicated that its personnel responded to County Road 100 South Saturday morning to clear downed trees from the roadway.

High winds caused similar damage in Danville. On Facebook, the Danville Metropolitan Police Department indicated Saturday's thunderstorms sparked vehicle crashes, downed powerlines and caused trees to fall.

At the intersection of Jefferson and Main Streets in Danville, high winds damaged a westbound traffic light. Officials had to temporarily close the intersection due to the extent of the damage the traffic signal sustained.
In Indianapolis, Saturday's storms left thousands of people without power. According to AES Indiana, the peak number of outages caused by Saturday's storm was 7,000.
As of 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the number of AES customers without power sat around 1,500.

As of 6 a.m., about 4,573 Duke Energy customers did not have power. Duke Energy's outage map indicated about 1,695 of its customers did not have power as of 4:30 p.m.
