Timing storms before warmth returns statewide!

Timing storms before warmth returns statewide!

Mostly cloudy and mostly dry to begin our Thursday morning. We are off to a great start, as roads are dry and temperatures are milder out the door! You should still grab that coat, as temperatures should hover in the lower 40s and upper 30s, while winds remain relatively light and variable.

This afternoon, we will see a thickening in clouds, as a few spotty showers are expected to travel across the state with a nearing boundary. Expect seasonal temperatures and many dry hours in between with highs reaching the upper 50s. Southwest winds will be between 5-10 mph through the day.

Late tonight shower chances will increase and eventually overnight storms will move in! This will bring heavier downpours, gustier winds and lightning. These storms will be part of the warm front passage, driving our temperatures into the 70s by Friday afternoon. Sunshine will emerge and winds will turn quite gusty (up to 35 mph) through the day too!

The weekend will bring a few chances of rain for the latter part of Saturday with more pronounced rain and storms on Sunday, while still maintaining above normal temperatures.
