Vocalist Kelly Hansen Performs Emotional Final Show With Foreigner After Two Decades With The Band

After 20 years with Foreigner, singer Kelly Hansen performed his final two shows with the band on Friday and Saturday night (October 10-11) at Hard Rock Live in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Hansen delivered emotional farewells to bandmates, crew, and fans during the concerts, while taking lead vocals on most songs. But he graciously handed lead vocals on some tracks to his successor, Luis Maldonado, for a preview of future Foreigner performances. Maldonado joined the band in 2021 and was named Hansen's official replacement in May. Foreigner bassist Jeff Pilson paid tribute to Hansen during the set, announcing that "tonight we are saying a very loving goodbye to someone who has made such a difference with this band, and he's been so important in helping take it to where it is right now." Foreigner will continue touring with singer Geordie Brown starting in Canada next week, while original vocalist Lou Gramm will join the group for a series of U.S. dates this December where he will perform select songs alongside Maldonado.
