Peter Frampton Announces 50th Anniversary Vinyl Edition Of 'Frampton Comes Alive!'

Peter Frampton announced on Thursday (January 15) that he is releasing a special "Vinylphyle" reissue of Frampton Comes Alive! on January 22nd through A&M/UMe to celebrate the album's 50th anniversary. The limited 2xLP set features 180g black vinyl sourced from the original 1975 production master and includes a four-panel insert featuring a new interview with Frampton by The Needle Drop's Anthony Fantano. "I can't believe it's now been 50 years since Frampton Comes Alive! was released, but that record still feels like a living, breathing moment in my life," Frampton said. The 1976 release became his first No. 1 album, spending 10 weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart and eventually achieving 8x-Platinum certification. The 75-year-old guitar legend continues touring despite his 2019 diagnosis of Inclusion Body Myositis, and in May 2025 he made a memorable guest appearance with Pearl Jam in Nashville.
