Rock legend Peter Frampton is back - and he brought some friends.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is set to release his new album, Carry the Light, on May 15, marking his first collection of all-new original material in 16 years. For fans who have been waiting a long time, the wait is almost over.
Co-written and produced alongside his son Julian Frampton, the 10-track album features an impressive lineup of guest appearances, including Sheryl Crow, Graham Nash, Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, H.E.R., saxophonist Bill Evans, and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
Frampton himself called the project a deeply personal one. "It was one of my most enjoyable projects ever," he said. "I got to work with my son Julian - writing and producing together. A first of many for us I'm sure."
The lead single, "Buried Treasure," features Benmont Tench and serves as a tribute to the late Tom Petty, taking its title from the SiriusXM radio show Petty hosted for 15 years.

The new album arrives at a meaningful moment in Frampton's career. Since revealing in 2019 that he had been diagnosed with inclusion body myositis, a progressive muscle disorder that could eventually prevent him from playing guitar, Frampton has continued to defy expectations and perform for his devoted fanbase.
