We are tracking cooler and more comfortable weather to kick off the month of August! The cold front that brought thunderstorms and downpours to central Indiana on Thursday is now over the Tennessee Valley and moving into the Southeast US.
A high-pressure feature over the Great Lakes will keep the area dry today and through the weekend. However, there is Canadian wildfire smoke trapped in the upper levels of the atmosphere in the Midwest. Several states are under Air Quality Alerts, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
The sky is a touch hazy this morning within central Indiana due to the nearby wildfire smoke. The hazy sunshine may be around at times today and Saturday. Otherwise, the region will see mixed sunshine and cloud cover over the weekend! Highs rise into the upper 70s this afternoon, and into the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday.
