It was a foggy start to our weekend in central Indiana. This comes off Friday's high of 85° in Indianapolis. That's the coolest high temperature in 11 days. Expect this to gradually mix out as the morning progresses.
A line of storms in Illinois and Iowa will race southeast into central Indiana today. Timeframe: 2-8 PM from west to east. Heaviest rain likely in a 1-2 hr window per spot. Peak coverage ~60% by 4:00 PM. Main threats: damaging winds & localized flooding, especially south of Indianapolis. That's because it's these spots that have received the most rainfall in recent days.
Be sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings, given the number of outdoor events occurring today. Some of those include Fever Fest, Mass Ave Summer Fest, Symphony on the Prairie and Dierks Bentley at Ruoff.
More of the same this next work week! A very mid-July pattern across central Indiana with slightly warmer temps, humidity sticking around with daily rain chances. No 100°+ heat indices are in the forecast but the air will be sticky all week long.
