Off to an unsettled start this morning, as light rain and drizzle continue to fall across the state. Temperatures are mild out-the-door, holding in the middle to upper 60s in most locations. Keep your umbrella handy, as additional rain will be in the mix throughout the day.
An approaching cold front will arrive this afternoon, prompting scattered showers and a few storms across the state. Nothing severe is expected but some lightning will be possible, along with small-sized hail. This rain is needed but will not be nearly enough to bust up the moderate drought in place. Rainfall range will be between .10" to .80" in your hometown.
Skies clear tonight and rain ends abruptly from west to east. Expect a cooler overnight, as lows slip into the lower 50s...where we should be this time of the year. Some patchy fog could in the mix, mainly for rural areas.
Sunshine is back tomorrow and a refreshing breeze (northeast 7-15 mph) will bring a taste of fall back to the state! More of this will be expected for the remainder of the week and weekend, with only a weak shower chance Friday evening. Otherwise, talk of frost will be in the mix both Thursday and Friday morning.
