Tropical heat holds as storms dot the area

It is a steamy, stuffy, sticky start this Friday morning. Higher dew points and warm temperatures are in place, under mixed clouds. A few isolated showers/storms are now on the radar but lots of dry space is expected for the morning rush hour.

Another hot day is expected with temperatures reaching the lower 90s. Added clouds will help at times and a few passing showers and storms are anticipated throughout the day. Still hot and still muggy as we stay on the warm side of a stalled front.

Keep in mind, a few storms could be on the healthy side with heavy downpours, lightning and a stronger gust. Winds are light today, too, from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Rain coverage will be roughly around 40%. Another day of drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks.

We will keep with this pattern through the weekend with daily heat and shower/storm chances around. Drier conditions are expected Tuesday and Wednesday, as 90-degee heat holds.
