Warm surge underway; timing next rain chances

A great start this morning, under mainly clear skies and comfortable temperatures. Expect another great sunrise, with light winds and a dry rush hour. Very quiet to start our hump-day morning.

This afternoon will bring plenty of sunshine, light, southeast winds and very warm temperatures. Highs should top out around 80° or 13° above the seasonal average. A few storms are nearby but will remain on a easterly track for extreme northern Indiana/southern Michigan.

An incredible night ahead, too!

The warmest day of the week is Thursday with highs in the lower 80s and a touch more humid, as dew points climb a bit. We could see a very, very limited shower/storm chance dance across the state by mid to late afternoon but most stay dry and very warm, while winds remain light.

Our best shower chances return on Friday with a limited storm chance throughout the day. A cooler flow will take hold Friday night and into Saturday behind the cold front. The timing looks great, as all the rain will be gone just in time for the weekend!
