INDIANAPOLIS - Drivers will turn laps again at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Wednesday after storms cut short the first day of practice.
Rain delayed the morning practice session; lightning prompted race officials to end the evening session 30 minutes earlier than scheduled.
Former Indy 500 winners Will Power (227.026 mph) and Josef Newgarden (226.971 mph) topped the speed charts on Tuesday. Alex Palou, who has dominated the IndyCar season so far, finished third behind the Penske teammates at 226.673 mph.
Wednesday's practice session is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. with refresher laps, followed by open practice. Here's a look at the schedule:
- 10 a.m. Gates open
- 10 a.m. Indianapolis 500 Refresher Laps
- 12 p.m. Indianapolis 500 practice (all cars)
- 6 p.m. Gates close
