B.E.S.T. 28 Greater Atlanta Christian 58
The Eagles fell to the number 1 ranked Spartans on Friday 58-28 in the Atlanta Football Insider Game of The Week. Despite the loss B.E.S.T. standout Deshawn Waller continued to shine racking up 185 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, 49 yards receiving and a touchdown and an interception. The tough part of the Eagles schedule is behind them now as they played 4 ranked opponents in their first 5 contests. The Eagles look to rebound this week against Holy Innocents.



Douglass 7 Blessed Trinity 45
The Douglass Astros lost friday night to powerhouse Blessed Trinity 45-7 at Lakewood. The ASstros will be off this week before taking on Washington on October 10.




Grady 28 St. Pius X 31
The Knights fell 31-28 to St. Pius late Saturday night at Grady Stadium. Despite 337 yards and 4 touchdowns from sophomore quarterback Caylin Newton, the Knights couldn't overcome some late mistakes. Amyr Smith also shined on the offensive side of the ball totaling 9 catches for 185 yards and 3 touchdowns in the loss. Grady has a week off before lacing them up against Decatur on October 10.




Jackson 20 Cedar Grove 46
Despite big games from quarterback Keenan Moore and wide receiver Quintavious Monday, Jackson fell 46-20 to Cedar Grove. Cedar Grove outscored the Jaguars 25-0 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters to put the game out of reach. The loss dropped Jackson to 2-3 on the season.




KIPP 6 Lovett 42
Kipp Collegiate fell to the Lovett Lions on Friday 42-6. The loss dropped KIPP to 1-4 on the season.




Mays 40 Lovejoy 35
The Mays Raiders pulled out an exciting back and forth game on Saturday night at Lakewood, winning the 2014 Inner City Classic 40-35 over Lovejoy. Senior Asahnia Aderhold was a man possessed on Saturday throwing for 338 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win. 3 of those passing touchdowns landed in the hands of Senior receiver Julius Whitehead. The road doesn't feet any easier this week as Mays takes on the defending state champs Creekside.




N Atlanta 7 Sprayberry 45
The North Atlanta Warriors football team lost Friday's home conference game against Sprayberry by a score of 45-7. After winning their opener over KIPP, North Atlanta has dropped 4 in a row. They look to stop the losing streak this friday against Cambridge.




S Atlanta 28 Towers 38
The South Atlanta Hornets football team lost Thursday's home conference game against Towers by a score of 38-28. The Hornets have this week off before hosting North Clayton on October 11.




Therrell 7 Westminster 41
The Therrell Panthers traveled to Westminster on friday and fell 41-7. The Westminster D overwhelmed the young Panthers as they were only able to amass 108 yards of offense. The Panthers are off this friday before traveling to Blessed Trinity on October 10.




Washington 28 Decatur 21
The Washington Bulldogs football team won Friday's away conference game against Decatur by a score of 28-21. The win was the second in a row for the Bulldogs after starting out the season with 3 close losses. Washington will take these good feelings into their bye week and then get back into action October 10 against Douglass.
