A sunrise ceremony was held Wednesday at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater to honor the victims of the 2017 mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. The ceremony included a minute of silence, presentations from the Southern Nevada Multiagency Honor Guard, and remarks from Governor Joe Lombardo, Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill, and other officials.
Following the ceremony, the public is invited to visit the "Remembering 1 October" exhibit in the Rotunda Gallery on the first floor of the Government Center through October 9. The exhibit features items from the Clark County Museum's collection, such as banners, letters, cowboy hats, stuffed animals, and other mementos left as tributes at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and other locations, serving as symbols of grief and support in the aftermath of the tragedy.
