Police Investigate Death of Celeste Rivas After Dismembered Body Found in Tesla Linked to Musician D

The investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas remains ongoing. Police discovered her dismembered body in the trunk of a Tesla registered to musician D4vd. Recent reports indicate that her remains were partially frozen before being found inside the vehicle. Authorities are now focusing on the 20-year-old musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, as well as another individual, as suspects in the case.

According to sources cited by TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will likely be unable to determine an official cause of death due to the condition of Rivas' remains. All of her body parts were reportedly "partially frozen" and had begun thawing in the trunk of the abandoned Tesla. Investigators found Rivas' body dismembered and in what has been described as "horrendous condition" on September 8. As a result, the cause of death may ultimately be listed as "undetermined."

Law enforcement officials are treating Celeste's death as a homicide and believe the musician may have played a role in her killing. Detectives have also identified a second suspect who is believed not to have killed Rivas but may have assisted in dismembering her body. No arrests have been made so far.

Reports indicate that D4vd allegedly took a late-night trip to a remote location for several hours in spring 2025, a detail that may prove significant to the investigation.

Celeste Rivas was last seen by her family at age 13 in 2024. The nature of her relationship with D4vd has not been officially confirmed, but her mother told TMZ that Celeste had a boyfriend named David. The Tesla containing Rivas' body had been parked for several days on a Hollywood Hills street near D4vd's rental property before it was eventually towed and the body was discovered.
