Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins Expect Fifth Child and Choose to Keep Babys Gender a Surprise
Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are expecting their fifth child, but they've decided not to find out the sex of the baby until birth. The country singer, 35, recently shared with Taste of Country that their new addition is due in March and that waiting to learn the baby's gender is both "terrifying" and thrilling. Rhett explained, "There's not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that's one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to."
The couple announced the pregnancy in August with a playful Instagram video, where Rhett updated the lyrics to his hit song "Life Changes" to reflect their growing family. In the clip, he sings about soon having "five under 10," referring to their soon-to-be five children all under the age of ten. Rhett joked that beyond five kids, the family might need to consider a Sprinter van.
Thomas Rhett and Lauren are already parents to four daughters: Lillie Carolina (3), Lennon Love (5), Ada James (8), and Willa Gray (9). In their announcement, they mentioned, "We've got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good."
Previously, Rhett celebrated Lillie Carolina's third birthday with heartfelt photos on Instagram, showing sweet father-daughter moments and expressing how quickly time has passed. The family continues to share glimpses of their lives, highlighting the joys and surprises of parenthood.
