Local sports camps coming to the Treasure Coast this summer

Vero Beach High School will host the second annual Shawn O'Dare Foundation Youth Football Camp with sign-ups continuing for the June 10 event.

O'Dare, a Vero graduate and NFL agent, will again be bringing some of the biggest stars from the University of Miami's football team to help run the free camp for participants from fifth grade going into their senior year of high school.

Former Vero Beach standout Jahfari Harvey, Tyler Van Dyke, Xavier Restrepo, Elijah Arroyo, Colbie Young and Jalen Rivers will be among several assisting with putting athletes through drills along with expected current and former NFL players.

O'Dare's foundation is partnering with Victory Kids, a nonprofit organization run by Vero Beach assistant coach Bill Motta.

The foundation will also be awarding its first college scholarships to two recipients at the camp as a continuing effort to give back to the local community.

Jensen Beach to host annual volleyball camp

The Jensen Beach volleyball program is taking signups for its volleyball camp to be held in two sessions on July 24 and July 28.

All In Sports Training will conduct the camp assisted by current and former Jensen Beach, Martin County and South Fork players to provide different skills to participants.

The camp, hosted for girls entering fourth through ninth grade, will work on individual skills in the mornings and will address teamwork and game situations in the afternoon.
