An Atlanta native, Truu Scotchy (Terry Whatley) was born on April 9. He is one of Power 107.9's top 50 streamed artists.

A rising hip-hop artist in Atlanta, Truu Scotchy has gained much attention during the last three years on Twitter, Instagram, iTunes, Spotify, and Vevo. His first hit song, "Pressure", skyrocketed him to online fame with over 78,000 Twitter followers and over 12,000 Instagram followers. Truu Scotchy's music is part social commentary, part self- reflection on his fast-track career. His song, "Cannabis", discusses both the recreational and medical uses of marijuana. In his first hit song, "Pressure", he talks about the "high" gets from his growing fame.

When he's not creating music or taking classes for his psychology major, he's trying to keep up with his highly active son, Terry. He also owns SHOWTIME WOOD RECORDS, a company through which he sells his mixtapes, apparel, and accessories which feature his stage name,
