BunNan BK offers plantain sandwiches that vary from jerk to red snapper, as well as plantain fries, plantain boats, and plantain nachos.

Fleurimond who's a proud plantain enthusiast, says her restaurant pays homage to her Haitian heritage all while elevating plantains from just a side dish to the main course.

"I was tired of plantains being a side dish," she says before raving about how plantains are loved across numerous cultures including African, Carribean and Latin American. "So I wanted something that would connect everyone and show how similar we are as it relates to food."
