Ariana Grande announced Tuesday that her eighth studio album, "Petal," will be released July 31.
Grande revealed the album's title, release date, and cover art on social media. The black-and-white cover shows Grande with her hair down, smiling. She said she co-wrote and co-produced the album with longtime collaborator Ilya.
According to Spotify, "Petal" will include 12 tracks. In a statement, Grande described the album as "full of life" and about "growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging."
"Petal" follows Grande's 2024 album, "Eternal Sunshine," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and produced two Hot 100 No. 1 singles: "Yes, And?" and "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)."
Grande is set to begin a tour supporting "Eternal Sunshine" on June 8, with dates scheduled through Sept. 1. The tour will end with 10 shows in London.
In previous interviews, Grande said she did not plan to release new music soon, choosing to focus on acting. Earlier this month, she hinted at her return to music by referencing "counting down the 8s" in the outgoing message of her Brighter Days hotline. She later confirmed she was back in the studio.
