Drake is continuing to tease fans with the release of his upcoming album, tentatively titled "Iceman." The Toronto rapper posted a series of cryptic images on Instagram early Tuesday, March 3, fueling speculation about the project's release.
In the post, Drake wrote, "What I Was Doing When You Thought I Was Crying." The photos included a graphic reading "Warning Iceman," a T-shirt emblazoned with "They Doubted Me," and an image with the phrase "Talk Is Cheap." Other images showed Drake's father and singer Cher, though the context was not explained.
Fans and fellow artists responded enthusiastically, with some hoping the post signaled that the long-awaited album is nearing release. Rapper Trinidad James commented on the post, expressing interest in collaborating with Drake. "I'll change the game with a verse on this album," he wrote.
There has been speculation that Drake will host another livestream-his fourth in connection with the "Iceman" project-prior to the album drop. Details about guest features remain unconfirmed. J. Cole, who was asked about a potential collaboration with Drake during his Trunk Sale Tour in February, indicated that no plans were in place. "I don't know about that," Cole told a fan.
Drake began the rollout for "Iceman" last summer with the single "What Did I Miss?," which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The new album will be Drake's first solo release since his public dispute with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, and his first solo LP since 2023's "For All the Dogs."
