SYDNEY (AP) - Louis Tomlinson told fans that Australian tour dates are "inevitable," signaling an official announcement may be imminent.
The British singer discussed his touring plans during an interview on "The Smallzy Show" on Friday, after host Smallzy noted that Tomlinson has already announced shows in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States from March through July.
"Australia dates aren't out there yet, though," Tomlinson said. When Smallzy referenced a comment Tomlinson previously made in response to a fan asking about Australian dates, the former One Direction member leaned into the speculation.
"I always find the question kind of funny because as long as I've been touring, I've always come to Aus. It's inevitable," Tomlinson said. "I love it there, I love it. So yeah, I'll definitely, definitely be there. I think we're just - it can't be too long until we announce, to be honest."
When Smallzy cautioned against giving fans false hope, Tomlinson reiterated his plans. "No, it's happening. Don't mind them. It's happening. The tour's happening. Get your tickets soon," he said.
Tomlinson is preparing to tour in support of his new album, "How Did I Get Here?," the follow-up to his 2020 solo debut "Walls" and 2022's "Faith In The Future." The new release marks his third full-length project since launching his solo career after One Direction's hiatus.
Tomlinson made his Australian solo debut in July 2022 and returned in January and February 2024 for a three-date East Coast run. During that visit, he performed material from "Faith In The Future," as well as One Direction songs such as "Drag Me Down" and "Where Do Broken Hearts Go," and a cover of Arctic Monkeys' "505."
No dates or venues have been confirmed for Tomlinson's next Australian shows.
