Taylor Swift Breaks Streaming Records with New Toy Story 5 Song 'I Knew It I Knew You'

Taylor Swift's new song for "Toy Story 5" broke multiple streaming records on its release day.
"I Knew It, I Knew You" became the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist on Spotify, according to the platform's announcement Friday. Apple Music reported the track set a new record for first-day listens among soundtrack singles and became the biggest country track of 2026 so far. Amazon Music said it was the biggest streaming day for any song released this year.
Swift released the track Friday after days of hinting at her connection to the upcoming film, which opens June 19. When she confirmed she wrote an original song for the "Toy Story" franchise, Swift said on Instagram that she has loved the characters since childhood. "I fell instantly in love with 'Toy Story 5' when I saw it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening," she wrote.
Swift wrote the lyrics for the character Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack. "Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time," Swift said in a post. "Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once."
This is Swift's first new music since "The Life of a Showgirl" last fall, which spent 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced two No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100: "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite."
"I Knew It, I Knew You" will be featured on the official "Toy Story 5" soundtrack, set for release June 19, the same day the film premieres worldwide.
