Billie Eilish Joins Justin Bieber Onstage for Emotional One Less Lonely Girl Performance

Justin Bieber invited Billie Eilish, 24, a longtime fan, onstage during his headlining set Saturday, April 18, to join him for his 2009 hit "One Less Lonely Girl."
The following day, Eilish posted on her Instagram Stories, sharing a selfie with red eyes and writing, "Can't stop crying," as she reflected on the emotional moment.
Eilish has been a fan of Bieber since childhood and had posters of him on her wall. Their first meeting at Coachella in 2019 went viral when a teenage Eilish was watching Ariana Grande's set and Bieber approached her. The two shared an embrace, and Bieber later wrote on Instagram, "Long and bright future ahead of you," after their encounter.
Seven years later, Eilish was invited onstage during "One Less Lonely Girl." She was visibly moved as she sat in a chair with her head in her hands while Bieber serenaded her. They hugged before Eilish returned to the audience.
Eilish's mother, Maggie Baird, posted on Instagram, describing the performance as "one of the most touching moments ever." She wrote, "We watch our children develop these deep, deep connections to artists who move them and usually there's nothing in our power to do... Watching this crazy, unimaginable dream come true over many years is so incredible."
Baird thanked Bieber for his "kindness" to their family, and also thanked his wife, Hailey Bieber, 29, "who makes so many things wonderful and possible." In video shared by Baird, Hailey Bieber was seen encouraging Eilish to go onstage.
The two families have grown close in recent years. Justin Bieber has worked with Eilish's brother, singer-songwriter and producer Finneas O'Connell, and both Justin and Hailey Bieber spent time with Eilish at the Grammy Awards in February.
In 2021, Eilish said Bieber had been "so helpful" with advice about coping with fame. The previous year, Bieber grew emotional discussing his desire to "protect" Eilish as she navigates the music industry.
