Snoop Dogg Arrives in Italy as Honorary Coach, Correspondent for 2026 Winter Olympics

MILAN - Snoop Dogg hit the ground running this week upon arriving in Italy for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games, immediately beginning his duties as the first-ever honorary coach for Team USA and special correspondent for NBC.

The Long Beach rapper, who previously served as a special correspondent for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, shared a video Tuesday in which he brings a dose of California flair to the Milano Ice Skating Arena. In the clip, originally posted by the NBC Olympics & Paralympics account, Snoop rides along the side of a Zamboni while wearing a full-length white winter coat with a blue patch and white stars over a red track suit. He captioned the post, "We here."

Snoop's Olympic coverage is expected to include interviews with Team USA athletes and features on Italian culture and landmarks. He will also host a recurring segment, "Snoop's Greatest Hits," throughout the Games' 16-day run.

During his first week, Snoop met with two-time world champion figure skater Ilia Malinin, known as the "Quad God" for being the only skater to land a fully rotated quadruple Axel in competition. In a video posted by NBC Sports, Malinin described meeting Snoop as a "crazy legend in front of me," while Snoop encouraged the 21-year-old athlete, saying, "You a legend, man! You're going for a gold medal."

Snoop watched Malinin perform on the ice, providing enthusiastic commentary and congratulating him for inspiring young skaters. "It's so many kids that want to be like you right now, man," Snoop said. The two exchanged compliments, with Snoop praising Malinin's style and reacting to his backflip, which is now allowed in competition after a nearly 50-year ban.

NBC Sports shared another post of the pair, writing, "The figure skating ice has never been more chill."

The opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 6.
