Shakira Sets Guinness World Record with Highest Grossing Latin Tour in History

Shakira's "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" tour has set a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist, grossing $421.6 million and selling 3.3 million tickets across 86 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore.

The Colombian singer launched the tour last year in Brazil and has since performed in major stadiums worldwide, including MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Shakira is scheduled to continue touring through 2026, with the final dates set for Mexico.

The tour is named after her collaboration with Bizarrap, in which she sings, "Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan," which translates to, "Women no longer cry, women get paid."

In an interview with Billboard, Shakira reflected on breaking the record. "The music industry has grown so much compared to what it was when I started my career," she said. "Breaking this record is a new milestone for me, considering that there are so many great artists who historically have toured in Latin America and Spain. After a 30-year career that took so much effort and met so many challenges, to be living this amazing moment is unbelievable."

The previous record was held by Luis Miguel, whose 2023-24 tour grossed $409.5 million.

Shakira credited her fans for her success. "I can only be grateful for the loyalty and passion of my fans, who give meaning to everything I do, and without them none of this would be happening. Without a doubt, they are the best fans in the world," she said.

The tour marks Shakira's first live trek since 2018. In a 2024 Rolling Stone cover story, she discussed the planning process, from selecting the set list to drawing inspiration from Beyonc 's Renaissance Tour and Taylor Swift's Eras Tour.

"Preparing a show is one of the most intricate, complex things I can do as an artist," Shakira said.
